This is a cam sensor cover designed to protect the delicate Mitsubishi Evolution cam sensor from heat damage from the exhaust manifold. These sensors can fail prematurely when exposed to the high heat of the 4G63 exhaust manifold and create issues with idle, on boost, and even prevent the car from starting.

This cam sensor cover is specifically designed to work with the JDM SAS (supplementary air system) otherwise known as the factory anti-lag. This cam sensor cover is also designed to provide increased coverage over typical 90* bend metal products. With built in upper heat vents, lower shield, and large radius bends to keep from scratching up your arms when working in the engine bay.

The material is a CFRP (Carbon fiber reinforced plastic) designed to take the high heat environment of the engine bay. At Speedin Engineering we tested multiple designs and materials to find the best performing heat shield. With the final product providing a better thermal barrier than the metal competitors.
