Performance Induction System – Porsche 987 Cayman / Boxster
Developed over more than 8 years, the Speedin Engineering Performance Induction System for the Porsche 987 Cayman and Boxster is designed to improve intake sound, airflow path, and driving engagement while maintaining clean OEM-style integration.
Rather than a generic filter-and-pipe intake, this system was developed as a modular induction package with multiple configuration options. Choose the Engine Bay Kit for a cleaner OEM exterior appearance, or step up to the full scoop-fed system for the complete engineered airflow path from the side inlet to the factory MAF housing.
Constructed from ultra high-temperature carbon fiber–infused polyamide, the system is built for the demanding thermal environment of a mid-engine Porsche and designed to mount cleanly using factory locations.
Kit Options
Engine Bay Kit
For owners who want the core intake system while retaining the factory exterior side grille.
This configuration includes the filter box, intake tubing, K&N filter, hydrophobic pre-filter, and factory MAF housing connection. It delivers the improved engine-bay airflow path, refined fitment, and enhanced induction sound while keeping the exterior appearance closer to stock.
Full Induction System with Driver-Side Scoop
The complete driver-side system adds the outer duct scoop to the Engine Bay Kit.
The scoop is designed to mount using factory locations and channel high-speed exterior airflow toward the intake system. This is the intended full airflow configuration and provides the most complete functional version of the system.
Full Induction System with Driver + Passenger Scoops
For owners who want the complete system with visual symmetry.
This option includes the full driver-side induction system plus a matching passenger-side scoop. The passenger-side scoop gives the car a balanced exterior appearance while maintaining the same clean, OEM-style fitment.

Airflow & Performance
The full scoop-fed system is designed to take advantage of the high-speed airflow along the side of the vehicle and guide that air toward the intake path. The internal geometry is shaped to smooth and direct airflow toward the factory MAF housing while maintaining clean integration with the surrounding engine bay.
For the Engine Bay Kit, the system still improves the intake layout and filter package while retaining the factory exterior grille.
Sound Experience
Under load, the system brings out a more aggressive and visceral flat-six intake howl from directly behind the driver.
At cruising speeds, the car retains an OEM-like cabin experience without unwanted drone. The goal is not to make the car obnoxious — it is to bring out more of the mechanical character that already makes the 987 platform special.
